MAN listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third time in a row
MAN has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World and Europe Indices by sustainability rating agency RobecoSam for the third time in a row, thereby achieving a key sustainability aim for 2014. This means that MAN remains among the three best-ranked companies and is the only German company of its sector to be represented in the Indices.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is the most important performance indicator for financial investors of the world’s most sustainability-driven companies. Companies undergo a best-in-class comparison within their industry when being ranked. RobecoSAM places MAN in the Machinery and Electrical Equipment sector which comprises a total of 98 companies worldwide. 11 of them qualified for the DJSI World Index. Companies are judged on their performance in economic, ecological, and social sustainability.
“Being listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World and Europe Indices again is recognition of MAN's work in the area of sustainability. We will also continue our efforts to constantly improve in this respect,” says Jochen Schumm, Chief Human Resources Officer of MAN SE.
In this year’s ranking, MAN was able to improve in the social dimension and scored particularly high in environmental management, risk management, and compliance.
