MAN is looking for committed mentors to get involved in educational coaching!
Mentors wanted! We are looking for colleagues – including junior managers – to join the educational coaching program offered by the childcare agency, Dominik-Brunner-Haus der Johanniter in Ramersdorf, where they will have the opportunity to pass on their experience and knowledge to young adults as committed mentors at the Johanniter Center for children and young adults.
The Dominik-Brunner-Haus der Johanniter is an initiative brought to life by Bavarian capital Munich and Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. Through a variety of different projects, the initiative provides help and support to children and young adults in Ramersdorf. “One of these projects is an educational coaching program for young adults. At the moment, we are looking for committed young mentors who want to pass on their knowledge and experience and who are keen to help young people on their way into working life. MAN wants to be part of this project,” says Peter Attin, Senior Vice President for Corporate Responsibility.
The mentoring program will involve seven young adults and starts in September 2018. All seven young participants go to different schools and require support in various different areas. For example, some of the participants would like advice and support in finding a suitable apprenticeship position or university place. During the program, which is set to span between six and nine months, mentors and mentees will arrange to meet when possible at random intervals. Before te start of the program, the head of the Dominik-Brunner-Haus will match the mentors with their mentees to ensure that the mentoring duos are optimally paired. In addition, she will be there to support the mentors in preparing for the program.
MAN employees who want to get involved as mentors can contact Peter Attin, Senior Vice President for Corporate Responsibility, or Renate Schemann, Head of the Dominik-Brunner-Haus, at any time to declare their interest or ask questions.
This collaboration is the pilot for a future mentoring program that MAN is planning together with the Volkswagen employee foundation and the social services department in Munich.
