Supervisory Board appoints René Umlauft to the Executive Board of MAN SE

Manager to become CEO of subsidiary MAN Diesel & Turbo SE

The Supervisory Board of MAN SE has decided to appoint Dr.-Ing. René Umlauft (46) as a deputy member of the MAN SE Executive Board. Dr. Umlauft will take up his duties in the fall of this year. The MAN SE Supervisory Board is also in favor of Dr. Umlauft becoming CEO of subsidiary MAN Diesel & Turbo SE.

Berlin-born Dr. Umlauft has been with Siemens AG since 1991. He has been strategically developing and directing its Renewable Energy Division as CEO since 2008. “In attracting Dr. Umlauft, MAN has secured a renowned industry executive for itself,” said Dr. Pachta-Reyhofen, CEO of MAN SE. “Thanks to his expertise in renewable energies and turbomachinery in particular, he will strengthen and advance our key Power Engineering business area.”

MAN Diesel & Turbo SE is the world’s leading supplier of large-bore diesel engines for marine and stationary applications and is also one of the top three turbomachinery providers on the global market. The Augsburg-based company posted revenue of €3.8 billion in 2010 with a workforce of around 12,500 employees. It is part of MAN’s Power Engineering business area.
