MAN bus advertising for World Cup in South Africa

Films, foosball and factual communications platform: MAN "People's Bus" to spark enthusiasm about football.

MAN Nutzfahrzeuge and the International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC) have presented a new MAN bus, which is to be used to promote the football World Cup in the country at the southern tip of Africa. Over the next few months the "People’s Bus" will visit more than 60 cities and municipalities in South Africa, using information and entertainment to set the mood for the first World Cup on the African continent, in particular among the rural population.

The MAN Lion’s Explorer bus has a compact cinema for ten people, equipped with a 42-inch plasma monitor and a DVD player. The bus also has two foosballs (also known as table football or soccer) where tournaments can be staged for children, teenagers and adults. In addition it has an exhibition area where visitors can get information about the teams participating and the history of the World Cup.

MAN Truck & Bus SA, the South African production and sales company of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, is sponsoring the bus and bearing the cost of the driver, while the state-run IMC is responsible for the interior fittings and the program of activities.
