MAN Sales Region Middle East with new head

Markus Geyer in charge of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge's Sales Region Middle East since 01st February 2009.

On 01st February 2009 Markus Geyer (44) took charge of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge's Sales Region Middle East, which is headquartered in Dubai. Geyer was until then a member of the Board of Management of MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH, where he was responsible for Controlling and Finance. The previous Head of the Middle East region, Alexander Smola, has taken up a new challenge outside MAN Nutzfahrzeuge.

The MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Sales Region Middle East steers business in the countries of the Middle East from Afghanistan via the Arab Republic of Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates to the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where, only on 24th January, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge opened a ckd plant for MAN TGA-WW trucks together with its local importer, Haji Husein Alireza & Co. Ltd. "The markets in the Middle East region are extremely important for MAN's international growth strategy. I'm looking forward to the challenge of consolidating MAN's position in these growth markets", said Markus Geyer. MAN Nutzfahrzeuge sold more than 5,600 trucks over six tonnes in the region in 2007. The MAN TGA-WW vehicles are extremely suitable for the special requirements in the climate of countries of the Middle East.

A graduate in economics, Markus Geyer is married and has four children. One stage in Geyer's career was Photon AG, where he was Finance Director. Prior to that Geyer was, among other positions, in China for three years for Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH as Vice General Manager of a joint venture.
