MAN Nutzfahrzeuge opens new Customer Center at Bus site in Posen
MAN low-floor buses will in future also be handed over to customers from all over the world directly from their production site.
MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has opened a new Customer Center at the low-floor bus production site in Sady near Posen (Poland). The complex covers a total area of 2,500 square metres and has not only a modern hall for the vehicles to be accepted and handed over, but also conference rooms and offices. "The construction of this new Customer Center is the last step in the restructuring of our low-floor bus production, which has now been concentrated in Poland," explains Lars Wrebo, Production and Logistics Director of the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Gruppe at the official opening of the new building complex. Since mid-2008 all the low-floor buses of the MAN brand have been manufactured at Starachowice, where the vehicles are semi-finished, and Posen, where they are completed.
As part of the expansion of the Posen plant, a new prototype center – the so-called methods room – has gone into operation. Here, new components are installed for test purposes in city buses and new assembly technologies are tested for production – an important contribution to the validation and series development of new models in the city bus sector. Starting from next year, series production of hybrid city buses will be launched in Poland, where many employees are already receiving training qualifying them for work in the high voltage range.
The new Customer Center at the Posen site meets all the requirements for carrying out a top-quality vehicle acceptance procedure in a pleasing ambience that is commensurate with the premium brand MAN. A program of activities on site tailored to each customer's wishes, comprehensive advice with regards to operating the vehicle as well as an individual check on the correctness of the order processing are all part of the service when the vehicle is handed over to the customer. "With the new Customer Center in Posen we have created a premium infrastructure for our customers for the acceptance and handover of our vehicles. Everything we do is aimed at meeting our customers' requirements: from reserving hotels to catering to on-site customer care, we try to fulfil their every wish," says Michael Kobriger, Chairman of the Management Board, MAN Bus SP. z o.o.
The MAN Lion’s City buses manufactured in Poland – since 2007 these include many particularly ecofriendly natural-gas powered buses – are in operation all around the world. Posen's Customer Center complements the MAN Forum at the headquarters of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in Munich, which also opened this year, and the newly designed Bus Despatch Center North in Hanover.
