Construction of new MAN Logistics Center in Salzgitter begins

Today sees the first official cut of the spade for construction of a new Logistics Center for MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in Salzgitter in the German state of Lower Saxony. Directly adjacent to the MAN production plant on a 188,000 m² site a modern logistics building will take shape with 52,000 m² of space for storage and world-wide distribution of spare parts for truck, buses and components.

"The new Logistics Center will lead to further improvements in the international parts logistics of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge. Our decision for Salzgitter will strengthen this location, and we will benefit from the close proximity to our production plant," said Ralf Kolshorn, Head of Parts Management at MAN Nutzfahrzeuge.

The Logistics Center will commence operations at the end of 2010. The property will be built by an investor specialised in the field. Altogether a total of 63 million euros is being invested in the new center.
